Marquise Edwards is a 2014 1B/LHP with a 5-11 193 lb. frame from Daytona Beach, FL who attends Mainland HS. Edwards has a medium sized frame with a strong lower half. Defensively he has solid footwork around the bag at first base with good defensive actions. He has soft hands and throws with a long whippy arm action. At the plate, Edwards starts with a high hand set and has a busy load to start his swing. He has a longer flat swing with developing bat speed. Edwards has good strength in his swing with some power potential. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a medium length arm action. Edwards gets closed at balance point and has some arm speed. He throws a 1/7 curveball with occasional good shape to it. There's more velocity in there with some lower half adjustments. Good student.
