Jason Bowman is a 2014 OF/1B, UT with a 6-4 195 lb. frame from West Des Moines, IA who attends Dowling Catholic. Bowman has a large frame with a long lean projectable build. Defensively he has solid actions and developing footwork to the baseball. Bowman has some arm strength up to 83 MPH with some carry on his throws. He has an upright finish and can get more extension out front. At the plate, Bowman starts with a tall stance and stays tall on his backside well. He swings on a line drive path and generates some bat speed. Bowman has good leverage at contact and flashed some pop. There's more power potential in there and he gets some extension in his swing. Outstanding student, named to Top Prospect Team.
