Santino Rivera is a 2017 SS/MIF, 3B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Chula Vista, CA who attends Eastlake HS. Medium, athletic with frame with a lean, projectable build and room to fill with additional strength. Ran a 6.83 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, moves well to the ball, fields out front with a wide base, soft hands play at ball nicely, sound athletic actions, shows good arm strength across the diamond coming out of hand clean and easy from multiple arm slots. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and hands pulled back at beginning of swing. Good rhythm to swing, small weight shift through lower half and a short path to the ball. Shows balance to swing and repeats mechanics well, gets the barrel to the ball and stays through it with some natural lift at contact. Swing projects. Good student.
