2014 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Rowdy Yates is a 2015 C/UT with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Garner, IA who attends Clear Lake HS. Long athletic build, lots of room to get stonger. Right handed hitter, bent knee/low hand start, simple shift to contact, has some raw strength, hands get out from body early creating length, has ability to lift and pull the ball on his pitch, some projection as a hitter with adjustments. Low flexible set up catching, receives the ball well, showed good technique on pop ups, side arm release point with limited footwork towards throws. Should continue to improve. Good student.
