2014 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Bryce Bisenius is a 2015 RHP/1B/C with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Johnston, IA who attends Dowling Catholic HS. Solid build with good present strength. High 3/4's arm action, long two-piece arm action, tends to open front side early and lose balance on release. Mid to upper 70's fastball, topped out at 79 mph, mostly straight with good cutting action glove side. Mid-60's curveball with some 12/6 downer depth at times, shows some feel for a straight change up. Mixes well and is around the plate with all pitches. Left handed hitter, low hand start from a wide stance, has good hand quickness and generates some bat speed, gets the ball in the air, looks to pull and lift, can drive the ball when his timing is on target, has some potential with the bat. Moves well around the first base bag and gets the job done. May have higher ceiling as a hitter than as a primary pitcher. Good student.
