Karl Kauffmann is a 2016 RHP/3B with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Bloomfield Hills, MI who attends Brother Rice HS. Well proportioned athletic build, good present strength and fairly mature physically. Well balanced delivery with a loose tension free arm stroke, extended 3/4's arm slot creates good angle to the plate, good lower half rotation and direction to the plate. Steady low 90's fastball, topped out at 93 mph, heavy sinking action, throws bowling balls up there. Has two quality off speed pitches, curveball has huge depth at times with sharp biting action and 11/5 shape. Has feel for his change up and nice fading action in the low 80's. Impressive performance. Very good student, verbal commitment to Michigan.
