Billy Russo is a 2017 3B/MIF, OF with a 6-0 192 lb. frame from Lebanon, NJ who attends North Hunterdon Reg. Medium frame with present strength throughout. Left handed hitter with a narrow stance, high back elbow set and toe tap trigger. Shows a short, direct path to contact with a line drive swing plane that produces solid bat speed through the zone. Mid-field approach but shows hand and barrel skills to hit to all fields. Consistently squared contact resulting in hard line drive contact. Repeats swing mechanics well with rhythm. Worked out defensively from the infield showing a high three quarters release that created on line carry with accuracy across the infield. Flashed solid first step quickness to each side with developing range. Funnels grounders well outfront with solid athletic actions on slow roller for size. Tools will continue to develop with maturity and fluidity. Good student as well.
