Mark Potter is a 2016 RHP/1B with a 6-7 245 lb. frame from Melbourne, FL who attends Melbourne Central Catholic HS. Extra extra large build, good overall strength but can get even stronger. Stays very compact in his delivery for such a large athlete, short arm action to a high 3/4's to over the top arm slot, gets some power and drive to the plate before release. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 89 mph, mostly straight with good downhill angle, has occasional arm side running action down in the zone. Curveball will flash good 12/6 spin and depth at times, tends to cut off his arm out front on the pitch and have it back up arm side, potential is there for it to be a good pitch with more consistency. Has been up to 91-92 in short appearances this summer. Good student, verbal commitment to Jacksonville.
