Joshua Bennett is a 2016 SS/OF/RHP with a 5-10 167 lb. frame from Ball Ground, GA who attends Creekview HS. Lean build on medium frame, shows some quick twitch athleticism. Ran 6.73 yard 60-yard dash. Primary infielder, shows solid footwork, does a good job of getting lower half involved and working through throws. Has a strong arm, good accuracy on throws from various arm angles. Right handed hitter, wrapped start with rotational swing. Has solid hands, showed ability to stay back on offspeed and use the entire field. Performed well off the mound, well-paced delivery in which momentum builds after leg raise. Gets to high 3/4 slot and creates decent downhill plane, some energy at release. Can spin out at times, but has deception and pitches jump on hitters. Fastball up to 80 mph and projects well with good armspeed. Mixed in curveball which flashed solid biting action from 12/6 shape. Also mixed in a rare changeup with some diving action down in the strike zone. Lots of tools to work with. Very good student.
