Ryan Tregoning is a 2006 3B/SS from Leigh HS, residing in San Jose, CA, with a 6'3", 180 lb. frame. He has a good athlete that has a broad upper body and a very good build that will really handle future weight and strength gains well. Tregoning loads his hands well and maintains good balance in his swing. He has good bat speed and keeps his bat in the zone well while doing a nice job of working to stay in the middle of the field. Tregoning does a good job of getting the barrel to the ball and will develop some future power, certainly capable of being an average power guy in the college game. His offensive game also features good baserunning instincts. On defense Tregoning has feet that work for him on defense. He sets up to ball well, stays low through the ball and has good hands. His arm has some carry that works for the long throws at 3rd base. Tregoning has a chance to be plus a defensive 3rd baseman. He is a good student with a projectable body, good hands/feet, excellent defensive ability, and a projectable bat. He must be considered a strong follow for a possible spring sign at the D1 level.
