Michael Rothenberg is a 2017 C/1B with a 6-4 200 lb. frame from Boca Raton, FL who attends Pine Crest HS. Big and strong athletic build, pushing the size limits for a catcher. Has very good footwork behind the plate, feet allow the rest of him to be quick, very good arm strength with carry, 1.81 best pop time, fundamentally very sound and polished. Switch hitter, similar swing approaches and bat speed from both sides, long and smooth swing with an early shift to his front side, showed more power and explosion at contact from the right side, stayed back behind the ball better, will have to fight the length in his swing and approach as the game gets faster.
