Blake Ford is a 2016 C/RHP with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Lees Summit, MO who attends Lees Summit HS. Medium athletic build, some present strength, especially in the lower half, with room for more. Very good arm strength behind the plate, tends to stand up to throw instead of gain ground, blocked very well in games and showed energy and good technique. Right handed hitter, very aggressive hitter who attacks the ball and creates bat speed, loose swing with some extension out front, has some lift in his swing, ball comes off the barrel hard when squared, uses the whole field and shows good balance when hitting to the opposite field, will expand the strike zone upwards at times. Also pitched, high 3/4's arm slot, tends to fall off on release, gets downhill with good late life at times when directional, fastball topped out at 83, soft curveball. Good athlete with a wide range of tools who should keep improving.
