Michael Lawson is a 2016 SS/2B with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Oak Ridge HS. Medium athletic build, room to get stronger. Left handed hitter, straight stance with a simple load and good weight shift, uses his hands well in his swing and is short and quick to the ball, squares up the ball hard in games and looked very comfortable against left handed pitching, has some hand strength and the ball jumps at contact, better swing mechanics against pitches up in the zone, polished overall hitter. 7.40 runner, has very good arm strength for a second baseman, good hands and balance on ground balls with a good exchange, plays with energy. Chance to be an nice offensive second baseman with development, knows how to play the game. Good student.
