Carson Childers is a 2016 RHP with a 6-4 180 lb. frame from Round Rock, TX who attends Round Rock HS. Extra-large, athletic frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable build to fill out with additional strength. Ran a 7.55 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, shows a full and quick arm action through the backside with a lower three-quarter slot at release. Incorporates lower half well into delivery and drives online, rotates hips well and shows an easy release. Fastball comes out clean, up to 84 mph with riding life to arm side, occasionally gets across body at release but shows ability to command glove side. Changeup shows late drop and has nice potential at 69 mph. Creates slider type shape to curveball from release point, commands it well to arm side. Has a feel and mixes nicely. Wide base fielding in the infield, quick release, full arm action with extension out front and strength across. Very good student.
