Joseph Blankenship is a 2016 1B/RHP with a 6-2 240 lb. frame from Snellville, GA who attends Grayson HS. Extra large frame, well-proportioned build. Solid athlete with big, natural strength. Right handed hitter with big raw power. Slightly open stance, tight hand set, rocks into hitting position well. Able to repeat mechanics well and has good feel for barrel. Pull-oriented approach, front-side can leak a bit early at times, but mostly displayed good balance. Ball really jumps off of his bat, natural leverage and loft, hit two homers in batting practice. Displayed a strong arm at first base, longer transfer and release. Also pitches, has longer arm action with slight wrap to 3/4 arm slot. Threw strikes with fastball up to 79 mph and flashed a 63 mph curveball. Named to Top Prospect List. Very good student.
