Josh Hollifield is a 2016 SS/3B with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Weddington, NC who attends Weddington. XL frame with excellent, strong present build throughout body to go along with good athleticism and overall projection. Posted a 7.12 seconds 60 yard dash time. Hits from slightly wrapped start, drops hands some into load, excellent approach to hitting with quality recognition skills and the barrel control to go with it. Swing will get long at times, generates excellent bat speed with leverage and strength. Ability to hit the ball out of the ballpark to all fields. Waits back well on off speed pitches, uses entire field, mostly line drive approach with big strength. Shows athleticism in the IF, centers himself to ball when fielding, very good hands with softness, shows good lateral agility, quick release with excellent arm strength topping at 88 MPH. Named to 2015 Atlantic Coast Top Showcase Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to VMI. Excellent student.
