Shane Muntz is a 2017 C/RHP with a 6-4 240 lb. frame from Phoenixville, PA who attends Malvern Prep. Extra large and strong build, a physical presence on the field. Two-way player, future appears to be on the mound at this point. Smooth arm action, creates angle to the plate from a high 3/4's arm slot, ball comes out of his hand easily. Fastball topped out at 92 mph, mostly straight with some arm side running action. Hard curveball with a late power bite, shows feel for his curveball. Right handed hitter, has a very short swing for his size, hits the ball out front from a drifting shift into contact, has huge power and jump when he squares it up, mid field approach and can hit it out to all fields. Lower half size inhibits mobility defensively, probable first base future if he stays a primary position player. Very interesting player with big power/power tools. Good student, verbal commitment to Wake Foreset.
