Christian Gardner is a 2017 OF with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Fairfield, CA who attends Angelo Rodriguez HS. Young, athletic frame with a lean and projectable build, has room to continue to fill out. Ran a 6.95 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, fields the ball out front with easy actions to and through the ball, shows twitch to actions, gets extended at release with a quick arm and present strength, quick first step, gains good ground with crow hop. Fields closer to body in the infield, lower arm slot, quick transfer with actions, flashes range up the middle, accurate on throws. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and a low hand set in the box. Small weight shift through lower half triggered by short leg lift, line drive swing plane, shows a feel for the barrel and gets it to ball. Swing projects with added strength, able to get extension out front, contact approach and executes staying balanced throughout, occasional lift at contact. Named to West Coast Underclass Top Prospect List. Good student.
