Cheatham threw 72 mph in drills with a best pop time of 1.98. He's balanced and quick behind the plate and consistent in his release and throwing mechanics. Cheatham had a 2.07 pop in a game situation is is very accurate on his throws, so he's going to throw out runners. Offensively, Cheatham has a simple, balanced hitting approach from a narrow base. He hits with still hands to start his swing and has a short, quick line drive stroke. Cheatham has good bat speed and shows some gap to gap power. He uses his hands well at contact and hit the ball solidly to all fields. Cheatham doesn't have much projection but has nice present tools on both offense and defense and looks like a performer.
