Evan Odum is a 2016 RHP/OF with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Lumberton, NC who attends Lumberton HS. Long and lean athletic build, projects very well physically. Standard leg raise delivery with a long and fast arm action, 3/4's arm slot. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 91 mph early, fastball mostly straight. Slider was a plus pitch this outing, very consistent release point and angle with fastball but with late biting action and depth. showed feel for locating slider and got multiple strike outs and weak swings on it, can throw slider to left handed hitters effectively. Impressive performance. Outstanding student, verbal commitment to North Carolina.
