Jared Deines is a 2014 OF/1B with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Cedar Falls, IA who attends Cedar Falls. Deines has a medium sized frame with a slender lean build. Defensively, he moves to the ball well in the outfield with solid actions through the baseball. He has clean transfers and developing arm strength. He also can play first base and showed good athleticism and footwork around the bag. At the plate, Deines starts with an open tall stance and has a smooth load to start his swing. He maintains good balance through his swing and showed the ability to hit the baseball to all fields. Deines has a loose easy swing with good bat speed. He showed good hitting tools and projects to be a high percentage contact guy at the next level. Very good student.
