Brett Matthews is a 2016 RHP/1B, 3B, OF with a 6-4 195 lb. frame from Queen Creek, AZ who attends Perry HS. Large frame, tall strong physical build. Pitches from a three quarters arm slot with a long arm action, arm works well. Deliberate pace to delivery with good stability and strength, online delivery. Good arm speed on changeup with arm side fading action, changeup is advanced pitch for an underclassman. Deep break on curveball as well and threw strikes with the ability to elevate the ball at times. Solid raw power potential at the plate, good strength and leverage in swing with a pull approach. Arm strength stood out at several defensive positions, looked especially comfortable at first base but has defensive versatility at other spots as well. Good student.
