Marcos Castillo is a 2017 OF/IF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Round Rock, TX who attends Stony Point HS. Medium, athletic frame with narrow shoulders and long limbs, lean and projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Posted a 6.88 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well to the ball with long strides and shows balance to actions, fields the ball out front and works through the it well, full arm action in the back, creates some extension out front and projects for additional arm strength with continued involvement of lower half. Light actions on feet in the infield, fields the ball out front and shows a quick transfer, clean actions and repeats them well, hands play well at the ball. Righthanded hitter, begins with an upright stance and carries hands lower through path. Linear swing plane through the zone and shows quickness to hand with ability to make line drive contact when on time. Occasionally gets to front side early, stays short to the ball and shows ability to create some lift at the point of contact. Works the middle of the field but can go to the opposite field gap with carry when squared. Excellent student.
