Juan Jimenez is a 2016 C with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Carolina, PR who attends Academia Perpetuo Socorro. Athletic frame with square shoulders and a mature build, present strength throughout body. Ran a 7.65 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, pops out of the crouch well and gains short ground with lower half, compact actions and arm stroke, quick transfer and release out of glove, accurate throws to second base, best pop time 1.96. Righthanded hitter, starts with a wide base and upright stance with hands away from body. Short and strong bat path to the ball and quick through the zone with a line drive swing plane. Loads hands at start of swing, pull side approach in the box, shows ability to create hard line drive contact, occasionally shifts weight to front side early but able to hit to the middle of the field. Good student.
