Carson McKoon is a 2016 LHP/1B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Chattanooga, TN who attends McCallie School. Large young athletic build, chance to get really strong. High leg raise delivery, high 3/4's to over the top arm slot, has to pull his head/upper body out of the way to let arm get through, some effort at release. Low 70's fastball, topped out at 74 mph, some arm side run to go with good downhill angle, works fastball low in the zone well. Big early breaking 12/6 curveball with occasional depth, gets good sink on his change up. Competed well and threw strikes, can improve with adjustments and physical maturity. Left handed hitter, busy load and swing approach, moves into contact and swings hard, tends to step open with his front side, looking to pull and lift the ball. Very good student.
