Austin Whitehead is a 2015 2B/RHP with a 5-9 161 lb. frame from Samford Valley, AUS who attends St Paul's HS. Medium, athletic build. Ran a 7.30 60 yard dash. Bats right-handed, works from a balanced setup and carries his hands low. Makes line drive contact and looks comfortable in game action. Flashes good bat speed. Shows good carry on his throws across the diamond and makes the plays consistently. Also took the mound, reaches 84 mph from a high three-quarter arm slot. Shows a quick, clean arm action. A little erratic with command. Mixes a 73 mph curveball with late, 11-5 bite. Also mixes a 78 mph changeup with good arm speed. Hides the ball well and has three quality pitches. Named to Top Prospect List.
