D'Shawn Webster is a 2017 IF/MIF with a 5-10 210 lb. frame from Mesquite, TX who attends Shelton High School. Medium, athletic frame with nice present strength proportioned throughout body, mature look with broad shoulders. Ran a 7.04 60-yard dash. Primary infielder with actions that play well at third base, fields the ball out front and hands play at ball, shows balance to actions and moves well while charging in, extra step at release, quick transfer into a lower arm slot on throws across the diamond. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high back elbow and an even stance in the box. Loads hands back at start and has timing triggers to swing but stays short to the ball with path. Uses mostly upper body in swing and projects with additional lower half, weight begins on backside, does a nice job of creating extension and hitting the ball out front, looks to lift at point of contact. Good student.
