Ryan Stoopes is a 5'11" 165 pound 2007 left handed pitcher and oufielder from Garden Grove, California who has a strong compact body with sloped shoulders and room for added muscle. Stoopes threw 4 innings and allowed only 3 hits. His fastball was from 80-83 mph that he busted in on the hands of left handers very well. Ryan's breaking ball was late and tight at 71-73 mph and his change up was 69-72 mph. He was extremely tough on left handers with his fastball and breaking ball. Stoopes showed some good strength at the plate with good bat speed. He drives the ball to the gaps very well. He starts with a narrow base and stands tall in the box and uses his loose hands to stay short and quick to the ball. Ryan showed good speed by running a 7.15 in the 60 and a 4.62 to first base. He is a quick and agile defender that covers a lot of ground and handles ground balls very well. Ryan is a two way prospect who is also a good student.
