Siragusa is a 5-8 freshman catcher from Houston with a young and developing 14 year old frame. He ran 7.57 in the 60 and threw 70 mph during catching drills with a best pop time of 2.12. There are all very good readings for a catcher Siragusa's age and speak well for his raw tools. In a couple of years Siragusa could be getting the ball down to second in a big hurry. One thing we noticed about Siragusa during the games is that he got drilled by far more foul balls than a normal catcher would. We're not sure what to recommend about that but it was very noticable and we felt sorry for the young man. It didn't stop him from hustling and playing hard and that's one of the best parts of Siragusa's game. Offensively, the wood bat is a bit heavy for Siragusa now. He made solid contact during batting practice and showed a sound fundamental swing and will just have to wait until the strength starts kicking in to take the next step at the plate. Overall this is a promising young catcher with a great attitude and some upside to his tools. Follow him for future strength gains.
