Jacob Kalusniak is a 2016 C/OF with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from St. Charles, MO who attends Francis Howell North. Medium frame, lean athletic build with solid present strength. Ran a 7.44 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, looks comfortable behind the plate, popped a 1.84 on throw to second base in defensive drills. Receives the ball well, gains some ground with quick footwork, throws show carry and are online to bases. Also plays outfield, moves to ball well, fields out in front, could use lower half more consistently in throwing mechanics. Right handed hitter, wide base with even setup. Aggressive leg lift and weight transfer, strength plays well when on time. Has good hands, shows ability to get extended through the hitting zone, line drive plane with ability to impact the ball, solid bat speed. Projects well on both sides of the ball. Very good student. Named to Ohio Valley Showcase Top Prospect Team.
