Jake McClelland is a 2016 RHP/1B, 3B with a 5-9 190 lb. frame from Havertown, PA who attends Haverford. Medium build with broad shoulders and a strong frame. Primary right-handed pitcher, throws from a three-quarter arm slot with a shorter arm action through the back side, hiding the ball well. Hip turn at top of delivery, high leg raise with steady tempo'd delivery, front shoulder opens early at release. Stays tall on back side, generates arm side run on fastball when he stays on top, shows ability to get to glove side. Short stride down the mound, ball comes out easy and topped 78 mph. Worked mostly off fastball but showed a curveball that flashed 11-5 shape with short break and tight rotation. Right-handed hitter, starts with a high hand set and high base elbow with a wide base. Upper body swing, shows a short path to the ball and uses hands well in swing, looks to lift in approach. Good student.
