Tye Young is a 2017 SS/RHP with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Odessa, TX who attends Permian. Athletic, young frame with a lean build and projects well as he continues to add strength. Ran a 7.56 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves well on feet and shows quickness, attack the ball, some effort on throws, shows strength across that will continue to develop. Also pitched, works from an over the top arm slot with a quick arm action in the back. Full delivery, works downhill well with presence on the mound and nice extension out front. Fastball topped at 78 mph and shows a nice feel for a 12-6 curveball at 68 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts with a high back elbow and a wide base. Upper body swing, gets to front foot early at times, shows an easy, repeatable swing with loose hands, short path to the base, line drive swing path with nice feel to hit to middle of the field. Very good student.
