Josh Caldwell is a 2006 catcher from Kennesaw Mountain High School in Kennesaw, Georgia, with a lean 5'11'', 165 lb. frame. Caldwell was one of the quicker catcher's at the event as far as pop times go. His quick transfer and release helped produce times under 2.00 with a best pop time of 1.90. He also has solid arm strength and should be able to control the running game. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with good bat speed. Caldwell turns on the ball well and looks to hit the ball hard. He dips his shoulder at times and gets under pitches, but the hand quickness and strength is there. Caldwell will be a good defensive catcher with upside on the offensive side. He is also a good student.
