Chad Jenkins is a 2006 RHP/1B from Cherokee High School in Canton, Georgia, with a 6'3'', 215 lb. frame. He has a big, strong, and durable pitcher's body with good arm action. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with minimal effort and online pitching mechanics. His fastball, with heavy sink, tops out at 88 mph, but Jenkins actually pitches off his curveball. He throws the pitch from 75-77 mph with an 11 to 5 break and throws the pitch to both sides of the plate for strikes. The pitch has hard break and depth, and he throws it with good arm speed. Jenkins has good tempo on the mound, and has good control of all three pitches. Jenkins has great upside because of his advanced breaking ball and his projectable velocity on his fastball. At the plate he showed raw power, and stayed in on the curveball well. We think his future is on the mound, and he could be a great one. He is also a very good student.
