CJ Vogel is a 2016 C/SS, RHP, 3B with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Allen, TX who attends Lovejoy. Medium, athletic build with broad shoulders, some present strength and room to fill out. Ran a 7.37 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, shows a short arm action from a lower slot from behind the plate, quick transfer on throws and shows carry and accuracy down to second base. Incorporation of lower half will help improve pop time. Accurate arm with strength across the infield, shows nice hands on ground balls to go along with quick footwork, plays through ball well. Also pitched, throws from a three-quarter arm slot with a full and extended arm action coming throw. High leg lift delivery, gets front side opened early at times. Fastball topped at 76 with some sinking and running life and showed bite on his 11-5 curveball at 68 mph. Switch hitter, starts with high hands from the right side and stays balanced through swing. Simple mechanics, gets barrel through the zone with a clean and short swing path. Creates line drive contact to pull side left-handed, starts with a high hand set and back elbow, gets hips through well, shows fluidity in swing with nice balance. Excellent student.
