Patrick McLoughlin is a 2016 LHP/OF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Cathedral Catholic. Medium frame, strong athletic build with loose strength. Pitches from a three quarters arm slot with a short arm action. Fluid delivery with steady pace generating good momentum towards the plate with good balance and posture. Good control of fastball and kept it within area of target consistently, flashing good running action at upper end of velocity range. Deep tilting action on slider, slurvy break due to depth on pitch but managed to control it well, flashed occasional changeup. Moves well defensively in the outfield, kills momentum after fielding the baseball and can get more on throws by continuing momentum and carrying it through throwing motion better, arm works well. Quick hands at the plate with a line drive swing plane, can generate better power by separation upper and lower halves more. Good student. Named to the Sunshine West Top Prospect Team.
