Edwin Melendez, Jr is a 2018 3B/RHP with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Manalapan, NJ who attends Manalapan. Medium frame with strong present build. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.48 seconds. Hits from even-based stance with big leg lift trigger, torques hips well into swing, line drive swing plane with flashes of bat speed, shows good juice when squared up, best pop came to pull field. Showed clean hand actions to both sides in the infield, quick transfer, athleticism to footwork, clocked up to 75 mph across. Also pitched, hyper tempo delivery, lands collapsed on front side and yanks across, fastball worked 77-80 with cutting life. Showed curveball with solid depth and slider with sweepy tilt; flashed some feel for changeup as well, did a good job throwing strikes. Good student.
