Jacob Kelchner is a 2018 LHP/OF with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Oaks, PA who attends Spring-Ford HS. Nice athletic build with good present strength and plenty of room for more. Multi-part delivery with some energy at release, lots going on and probably deceptive to hitters, high 3/4's slot creates good plane. Fastball topped out at 87, works mostly to his arm side with some running life. Curveball was his best pitch this outing, up to 73 mph with good depth and consistently in the strike zone. Straight change with good arm speed at release. Left handed hitter, long and lifting swing, looking to pull the ball, swings with intent. Good student, verbal commitment to St. Johns.
