Garrett Cook is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Alpharetta, GA who attends Milton. Medium frame with athletic, solid build; body projects moving forward as well. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.28 seconds. Sets up to hit with high hand set, deep hand load back with some elasticity, very short and compact swing to and through the zone with quickness to hands. Line drive swing plane, shows good strength in swing with ability to drive the ball, good feel to go to all fields when necessary as well. Worked out defensively in the outfield, quick move to the ball with good athleticism and twitch, fields out front well and shows very quick transfer with quickened release. Threw up to 81 MPH from the OF with good accuracy to target. Pitched as well, big rocker step into waist-high leg kick, short strider downhill with good tempo. Compact arm action to three quarters arm slot, creates plane, fastball worked 80-82 MPH and consistently commanded the offering down in the zone to both sides of the plate. Showed curveball with 10/4 shape and some sweeping action, depth as well, did a very good job mixing pitches and throwing strikes with both while attacking hitters. Very good student.
