2015 Atlantic Coast Underclass Showcase
Tucker Rogers is a 2017 RHP/3B, SS with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Raleigh, NC who attends Middle Creek. Large frame with strong, athletic build and good projection remaining. Primary pitcher, uses hip coil into delivery to load, hides ball well as a result, rotates hips well to get online downhill with good balance and lower half usage. Arm is very easy and loose to 3/4 slot, FB worked 78-82, touching 83, with good riding life to arm side. Showed CB with slurvy 10/4 shape, quality spin on pitch; advanced feel for CH by replicating FB arm speed and getting fading action on pitch. Hits from wide spread stance with incomplete shift into contact, generates whippy bat speed with quick hands, has loft in swing with strength off the barrel when properly timed. Good gap power with more coming. Showed soft, sure hands in the IF with easy actions, gathers well and throws accurately on a line to 1B with velocity up to 82 MPH. Named to 2015 Atlantic Coast Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List. Very good student.
