Akashian is a good looking "04" catcher with a very strong arm. At 6'1/180 he has a good strong body that still has plenty of projection for additional size and strength. He is athletic and even runs well for a catcher. He can improve his pop times a little with better technique, but his arm strength is already MLB quality. In fact, he threw 80 mph on his throws to 2B. Brendan also has hitting ability. He shows bat speed with a nice swing, staying inside the ball. Looks like he spreads his hands apart on the bat. This helps with bat control, but this kid has some serious power potential from the left side. Brendan plays for keeps and is a real hustler. Very good player who could devel;op into a good draft pick down the road. Brendan is an outstanding student and definitely looking for a top education including possibly the Ivy League programs.
