Josh Long is a 2016 MIF/RHP with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Springfield, GA who attends Effingham County HS. Slender young athletic build, lots of room to get stronger. Right handed hitter, quiet hand load with a small leg lift trigger, moves into contact on time, keeps it simple, short line drive swing with an inside hand path, works up the middle and shows good feel for the barrel, high average approach that is well executed. 6.90 runner, has clean fundamentals defensively, stays low and works through the ball well, has fluid actions and good balance, quick release, second base arm strength but will be very solid at that position. Also pitched, high 3/4's arm slot, high energy delivery, fastball topped out at 78 mph, pitched in the rain but has been up to 84-85 mph this summer, soft curveball, threw strikes and pitched to contact. Good student.
