Ryan Surin is a 2018 LHP/ with a 6-2 215 lb. frame from Plainfield, IL who attends Joliet Catholic Academy. Large frame with broad shoulders and present strength. Primary left handed pitcher with a simple leg lift delivery. Stays balanced on back side at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Lands in line with the plate and carries momentum over a flexed from side to finish. Smooth arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters arm slot producing some recoil at finish. Fastball jumped out of hand well with occasional downhill tilt with some heavy run int he low 80's, topped at 83 miles per hour. Curveball had 1/7 shape with loose spin and good depth to the bottom of the zone in the mid 70's. Also flashed a changeup offering that produced some fade to arm side in the low 70's. Consistently repeated arm action allowing for good command to each edge of the plate. Worked down in the strike zone throughout each inning producing weak contact. Outstanding student.
