Manuel Rios is a 2016 3B/SS with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Lubbock, TX who attends Estacado. Medium, athletic build with nice present strength in frame that plays in game actions. Ran a 7.42 60-yard dash. Primary infielder, shows solid range to either side with glove work that plays, strong lower half, shows nice arm strength across the diamond with carry. Also pitched, throws from a three-quarter arm slot with a full arm action in the back. Low effort delivery with the ball coming out clean, and stays balanced throughout. Fastball topped out at 80 mph and shows a feel for both an 11-5 curveball with nice shape and a changeup at 74 mph with some fading life. Right-handed hitter, starts with a slight knee bend in stance and uses a leg lift trigger. Wrapped start, shows a short and quick path to the ball, looks to lift and shows nice carry and strength well squared off the barrel. Uses an up the middle approach and has a nice knowledge of the strike zone. Very good student.
