2014 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Naotaka Fujieda is a 2015 2B/3B with a 5-6 150 lb. frame from Sagamihara, Kanagawa, Japan who attends Nihon Daigaku HS. Compact frame, slender athletic young build. Switch hitter with a disciplined approach at the plate, short stride and a simple efficient swing. Shorter and more natural swing from the left side, slight uppercut to create late lift and a good contact rate, solid right handed swing as well with a line drive plane and did a good job of going the other way with outside fastball during a right handed at-bat in game. Good footwork defensively in the infield, hands work well and has a quick release to throws. Good student.
