2016 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Cameron Nixon is a 2017 RHP/3B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Las Vegas, NV who attends Arbor View HS. Nixon has a medium build with room to fill out and add strength. Primary pitcher up to 85, high leg kick with good coil of hips, delivery is online with a fast compact arm action to a 3/4 release point. Uses lower half well and velocity will gain as he gets stronger and has a bit better timing with lower half. Worked fastball mostly away with good arm side run down in zone with life. Kept arm speed up on change up that flashed depth at 75-76. Curveball had 11/5 shape and showed feel early on for it. Hit from a square stance, simple swing mechanics with a mid field approach. Line drive plane with good hands. Defensively, sure actions with good glove and hands, arm works well with carry on throws. Named to Top Prospect List at West Coast Top.
