Jason David is a 2008 RHP/OF from Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, IL, with a 6'1'', 185 lb. frame. Was named to the Top Prospect Team at the event. David is a young pitcher with a lean and projectable body. He throws from an over the top arm slot with good arm speed, and has solid mechanics with a balanced delivery. His fastball topped out at 81 mph, but he has very projectable velocity for the future. He maintained his velocity out of the stretch and throughout his outing. David also mixes in a good curveball at 65 mph with a big sweeping break. He has a good two pitch mix and has upside on the mound. Defensively he has very good arm strength from the outfield with online carry. He takes good routes to fly balls showing athleticism and instincts. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with solid bat speed through the zone. David takes an aggressive swing and hits the ball with strength and power. He is currently a gap hitter with projectable power in the future. David is a two-way prospect with good upside, and he is a good student as well.
