George Somers is a 2017 2B/C with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Lake Hopatcong, NJ who attends Pope John XXIII HS. Somers has a medium build with room to fill out. Hits from a square stance, starts with high hands, , has strength in line drive swing plane and makes loud contact. Shows good bat speed. Pull approach with consistent swing plane. Defensively, worked out at both the infield and catcher, on teh infield, has short arm action, throws ball from different angles. Accurate throws across diamond. Behind the plate, has short arm action, loopy hand action to get into throwing motion. Has young tools to improve on. Good Student.
