Ian Schever is a 2016 LHP/1B with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Lincroft, NJ who attends . Schever has a large athletic build. 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action and circle in back. Low effort delivery with repeatable mechanics. Fastball topped at 81 and mixed in a 2/7 spinning curveball with late action. Hit from a a square spread stance with high hands. Quick hands to ball and ball jumped of barrel when centered. Has lift in his line drive swing and shows power potential. Has tools at the plate to develop and power should continue to develop as he consistently gets extended and barrel control. Defensively, from the OF, attracting actions to ball and works through the ball well with a clean transfer and release, accurate throws. At first base, fields ball out front, short arm action, moves well for size and has quick footwork. Athletic coming in on slow roller. Good Student.
