Robert Taylor is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Wolcott, CT who attends The Gunnery. Medium frame with quality athletic build throughout body and good room to continue filling out. Posted 7.22 second 60 yard dash time. Hits with leg lift timing mechanism, balanced throughout swing, shows naturally lofted swing with solid bat speed, generates good strength off the barrel with gap-to-gap power at present and more power to come with continued physical development. Moves well to the ball in the outfield, fields cleanly and explodes into crow hop gather, longer arm action with looseness, accurate throws topping at 77 MPH with good carry. Pitched as well, longer arms for frame, full arm action to 3/4 slot, coils hip into delivery, repeats delivery well and works from 3B side of the rubber. Shows good control of FB, worked 74-79 across several innings, FB at lower velocity had some cutting action, CB showed 12/6 shape with good depth. Flashed CH at 73 with slight cutting action. Threw strikes with 3 pitches and worked quickly. Good student.
